From: Jim Fortunato Mantua side of Sewell, NJ Friday, 8:37 a.m. Dear Friend, I have no idea how you got to this website! Maybe you saw one of our karate & jiu jitsu demonstrations around town. Maybe a friend referred you to it. Perhaps you stumbled onto it by pure luck searching for karate or jiu jitsu lessons on the internet. But, however you got here, you have arrived at what is, without question, the most valuable martial art school website in all of Gloucester County. Here's why: Back in July of 1996, I opened up a small martial art school in Timberline Plaza called Fortunato Karate. I had very little money, no advertising budget, zero students and had to work my day job as a cook to keep the school opened. I priced my tuition reasonable, taught from the heart and, with very little promotion, I soon had enough students to quit my day job and focus on teaching martial arts full time. And, guess what? That's exactly what I did...I quit my day job as cook 9 months after opening up and I've been teaching full time every since at Timberline Plaza in Sewell, NJ. I've been at this location ever since. Since I started this school, I have received hundred and hundreds of letters, phone calls and emails from people telling me how the training they have received helped them improve their health, protect themselves (and, in some cases, literally saved their lives), helped build their confidence at school and at work... and... in various other ways... improved their lives immensely. So, I got to thinking, "Well, heck... if the way I teach martial arts helps people this much, I should probably put up a website so that folks sesarching online can find me." For over 13 years, I’ve been teaching, training, coaching & mentoring children like yours with personal development and character building tools found only in my unique approach to martial arts. In a minute I’m going to show you how you and/or your child can sample a karate or jiu jitsu lesson with me Free of Charge!! My teaching philosophy is simple. I teach people how to develop personally, mentally and physically, while having fun in the process. My kids classes are based on character development, leadership skills, focus, respect, discipline. I teach my students what it means to work hard and train hard. My adult classes are based on physical fitness, reality-based combat and self-defense. Adults primarly learn a solid foundation in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which was made famous by the legendary Gracie family from Rio de Janerio, Brazil. Adults of all ages learn at their own pace, there are no egos or tough-guy attitudes at our school. We have ex-jocks to business executives training with us.
"I Was Laughed At, Teased and Bullied As a Child But Now I've Got The Confidence and Skills Needed To Protect Myself... ...Even If An Attacker Broke In My House After reading the above statement I bet you're thinking either: "That was pretty funny!" or "This guy is really arrogant!". The truth is I've been called both. But seriously...I truly want you to know that if martial arts training can work for me if can work for you and your child. The trick is you need the right training. And since nowadays, you'll find more karate schools in town that you will McDonalds, it's important to know what to look for when choosing a school. I'm going to give you a few ways we help our students and then at the end of this letter invite you in to try a FREE, No obligation trail lesson so you can 'test' it for yourself.
Now remember, martial arts training is not JUST about learning how to "kick, block, and punch." Most times our biggest challenges in life isn't from a 'physical' confrontation. It usually comes from our own inner fears and self doubt. I call it 'NEGATIVE SELF TALK', and here is what it sounds like. Kids will say things like: · "I’m not as smart as Billy." · "I don’t get what my teacher is saying." · "I wish I was as (strong, pretty, tall) as Suzie." · "Why does Joey keep giving me a bad time?" · "Why can’t I be as popular as Jill?" The BIG question is: How do you get your child to fight these demons? You know the problem but your child has a tough time even telling you about them. Never mind how they might conquer them. Well, the good news is, I have a proven solution. A program that has already worked for over 1,000 children. A ‘cycle of success’ your child can learn easier than you think. I call it, "The Black Belt Success Cycle." Let me tell you it’s secret: To repeat: Martial Arts are less about your child learning to fight others, and more about fighting…himself. His innermost fears. Conquer them, and your child unleashes within himself a powerful, unstoppable force. A force that gives him the strength to kick down the doors of his own self doubts, a force that opens your child to the exalting power of values. In other words, when your child uses the discipline of martial arts to conquer his fears, he has power to transfer that discipline to all other areas of his life. I know of no other sport that does this better than martial arts. (I should know. Remember, I’ve been teaching it for over 10 years.) Now, you may be asking, how does all this "values" stuff work? And why does karate manage to do a better job teaching it? Again, more than any other sport, Karate gives your child the chance to explore his or her innate powers. They'll marvel, (as will you) as they increase in strength, flexibility endurance, balance, and confidence. Yet this is only the start... In fact, physical skills act as a foundation for something much more important: the development of value skills. Here is an example of what I mean, I'll show you how it works. ...Like this... Courage: Your child finds the courage to move outside of his or her comfort zone and think 'outside the box'. As a result he becomes able to face the challenge of more difficult karate skills. He is no longer afraid of being afraid. He learns that whatever he sows, he reaps. He learns to stop looking, comparing and worrying about others and starts looking at himself. Now he suddenly sees his life as a constant, never-ending journey that gives him an opportunity to learn and grow. Staying power: Your child finds joy in improving her physical stamina. She can walk farther, run longer, practice skills until she gets them right. In turn, she learns not to give up. She sticks things out. With the help of her teachers, she strives harder, longer to reach her goals. Even if she fails she perseveres. She won’t let her self doubts get in the way of finding ultimate solutions. "Where performance is measured, performance improves." Yet, your child has to first accept where he or she stands now. That means measuring current strengths. Above all, she learns that to succeed, she needs to be honest with herself and others. Keener focus: He learns to make eye contact with his teachers, parents and coaches (and anyone else he is talking to.) He pays greater attention to what each teacher says. He knows and accepts where he stands. These are just three of the powerful, energizing values your child will get from the learning and applying "The Black Belt Success Cycle". You can also look forward to your child developing:
